BEST OF SHOW

Linda McCord - Yellow Gown

- acrylic - 20'' x 21''

I am best known for my illustrative figurative work in watercolor and acrylic paintings. I prefer to build up many transparent layers of paint rather than direct application. Value and composition are more important to me than the subject matter, so I treat each piece of work as if it were a still life. I love reflections in metal, mirrors or any reflective surface and try to incorporate those images into many of the series of work I do.

Lev Bogorov - Orange Fall

oil on canvas - 48″ x 48″

In my paintings I develop the main ideas of Russian Avant-garde principles and it is the source of my inspiration. Among many directions of this movement was constructivism which based on geometric forms which created dynamic in compositions, and increased mining and impression of paintings. I created geometric composition from squares gradually reduced by sizes to form spirals turning to the left or to the right, so there were four canvases. Spirals turned to each other to form united composition. Every square had red color gradually tinted by small amount of yellow.

Rosemarie Berger - Verflechtung

aludibond - 90 x 60 cm

Digital photography - associative sceneries / Photo art on topics that touch and inspire... Rosemarie Berger worked as designer in advertising and for many years she was responsible for the entire photo planning of an extensive area of work, certainly one of the foundations of her further development. In 2008 she started working as a photo artist and since she has presented her works successfully at national and international exhibitions, for example at Art Karlsruhe, Art Strasbourg, Art Innsbruck and many more. Thoughts and emotions becomes visible in Rosemarie Berger‘s pictures, the theme of “being and past” basicly sounds as tenor of her works. Important to her are special details abstracted sections. She only allows herself natural light. The artistical procedures happens by the computer, comparable a painter applying several layers of paints by brush, similar to a (digital) collage.

Anna Galea - Wild Maltese Flower - Triptych

- watercolor

I invite the viewer to a dialogue with my art through shapes, tone, colour and pose. Inspired by Nature, I delight in zooming in to produce dramatic and sometimes abstracted interpretations of normal mundane subjects which we all tend to take for granted. My works are often exceptionally large as I invite the audience to immerse themselves into my subjects. I paint and draw in all media. In particular though, I find watercolour a challenging medium that can produce vibrant, fluid and intense art: www.annagalea.com I believe in freeing myself to push borders, experiment and keep discovering…
