FLORAL ART SHOW

Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the second Floral online art show for the month of November 2022. The show encompassed a range of artistic styles and mediums (oil on canvas, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, photography, digital, sketch, colored pencil, alabaster, ceramics). Each submission has been judged based on the following elements of artistic expression: orginality and quality of art, overall design, creativity, interpretation of the theme, demonstration of artistic ability and usage of medium. Out of all entries, 137 artworks were shortlisted for inclusion in the show. The competition attracted entries from many countries across the world: USA, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, UK, Sweden, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Latvia and Finland. Enjoy the show and thank you for expressing an interest in our competition.

Marjorie Moskowitz - Bee Balm

oil - 48'' x 36''

Her current paintings focus on a moment in time, in nature, when plants are at the peak of their reproductive cycle. They are fully asserting their seductive beauty/perfection/ splendor/ripeness. We observe blooming fields in their entirety. These paintings are the opposite of that configuration. Just as all matter is made up of atoms which contain electronically moving parts, the focus is on select blooms, unusual perspectives, and often shows the importance of their smallest components.

Carina Imbrogno - Fiore di Primavera

pastel - 27'' x 17''

I am a disabled self taught award winning artist and now an inspirational artist. I have had many miracles and I feels that I’m being guided by God in my life and I believes I’m alive to tell my story and share my art with the world and inspire others like me. I feel and believe that this is my purpose here on earth and it has become my life mission. I enjoy to draw and paint realistically. It has become the medium of my choice I discovered three years ago. I can also work in oils, acrylics, graphite, gouache and colored pencils. I was born with Elhers Danlos Syndrome, a rare disease that caused my spine to collapse twice. I have endured over 10 operations since the age of 10. Both back and abdominal. I have two rods and 26 screws holding her spine. I loves to draw and paint nature, animals, pets, wildlife, people, animals, kids, landscapes and architectural pieces in mediums such as oils, acrylics, gouache, graphite, charcoal and colored pencils.

Ivan Jones - Moth Orchid

soft pastel - 70 X 50 cm

Ivan is a pastel artist living and working in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, having been brought up in Nottinghamshire. He was introduced to pastel as a teenager by a friend of his father's and in fact still has remnants of his first set of pastels. At 16, Ivan chose a career as a veterinary surgeon, rather than go to art college. However, in his retirement he pursued his interest in the creative arts, specialising in pastel as his chosen medium, and his understanding of animals allows him to add something extra to his artworks. Modern pastels and pastel pencils allow for more detailed artworks with increased depth and vibrancy. Ivan makes full use of this to create a style that is unique to him. Today commission work occupies much of his time, with subjects ranging from portraits and pet portraits, to landscapes, and vintage and racing cars. Ivan has completed a large number of artworks in the past 22 years, many of which can be seen on his website www.ivanjonesart.co.uk He admires the work of many artists including the Impressionists, Pre-Raphaelites, David Shepherd, Simon Coombes and many of his contemporaries. Ivan has exhibited widely in Herefordshire and will be displaying his artwork at Grange Court in Leominster on the weekend of November 26th and 27th 2022.

Hopefully capturing the hidden details, in the shadows and out of the shadows. I love the process of finding natural beauty that I didn't see at first.
