BEST OF SHOW

Maki Nakane - DEEP.M

mixed media - 15 x 15 cm

DEEP The DEEP shows the texture of cloth and creates a blue world. It is so deep and quiet that no one has been there nor knows. It's a mysterious world of magnificent blue under the sea. There are waves that flow slowly, while others glow like swirls and blinks. I want to step into such a blue world.

Lev Bogorov - Blizzard

oil on canvas - 36″ x 72″

I was born in Russia were I studied drawings and paintings at different professional studios, and after emigration to the USA I participated at many juried art exhibitions every year. In my paintings I used the main ideas of Russian Avant-garde and it was the source of my inspiration. Among many directions of this movement was constructivism which based on geometric forms which created dynamic and impression in compositions. I am trying to apply these approaches to create images of nature.

SECOND PLACE

Michael Wagner - Perspektiven

acrylic - 100 x 50 cm

Works of art reflect the world. My works are also mirror images of today. However, it is not a reflection of the external appearance, not an abstraction of the mimetic world, but a reflection of the inner constitution. My works arise from sensations. They reflect the sense of time, so to speak, and represent ciphers for today. Thinking and feeling, geometry and color - between these poles I explore my artistic possibilities, although with all seriousness playful and poetic components are always involved. In this way I develop a visual world that has its roots in the strictness of the constructive and concrete, but at the same time is also based on individuality and spontaneous intuition.

THIRD PLACE

Lance Bukove - The Dance

watercolor

I have been a professional artist for over 30 years. In my early years I focused on a photo realism finish to all my works. Over the past decade I have moved more into an abstract feel. This has allowed me to put more of a personal touch and representation in my pieces. I have found this to be quite enjoyable. I have had some formal training but am mostly self taught. I focus on wildlife, architecture, transportation and free flowing images. My originals and prints are in both corporate and private collections around the world.
